Welcome to the Coachella Valley Public Cemetery District. Our goal is to provide our community with exceptional service, maintaining our cemetery as a dignified and respectful resting place for loved ones.

The Coachella Valley Public Cemetery District is an independent California Special District formed in 1927.  The District serves the public cemetery needs of an area encompassing nearly 3,444 square miles of Riverside County, including the cities of Coachella, Indio, La Quinta, Indian Wells, Palm Desert, as well as parts of Rancho Mirage and unincorporated Riverside County.  The purpose of the District is to offer affordable interment services for our County residents.

This website can be used to locate loved ones, access information about upcoming interment services, special events and District policy, as well as schedule an appointment with staff. If you are unable to find the information you require, please reach out to us during office hours and we will be happy to assist you.

Beginning May 1st, cemetery closing time will be extended to 8:00 p.m.  Closing time will remain at this time through August.

Effective the week of May 12, 2024, the District will be shifting to its summer service schedule.  The summer service times will be as follows:
Monday – Friday, 8:30am, 10:00am & 11:30am.
Shade, water and fans will be provided for all services.  An industrial fan will be offered for the 11:30 a.m. service.

Please be advised, the District expects heavy traffic on May 10th (Mexican Mother’s Day) and May 12th (Mother’s Day). The overflow lot located on the west side of the cemetery will be open for additional parking. A kind reminder, please no canopies, live music (bands), alcohol, glass, open flames (to include candles), or pets (ADA Service Animals only) on grounds. Please follow the direction of security and law enforcement at all times.

There will be no mowing the week of May 13th (5/14 & 5/16) for Mother’s Day and the week of May 27th (5/28 & 5/30) for Memorial Day.

District offices will be closed on Monday, May 27th in observance of Memorial Day.
